Every year we have a full family check-up, and several years ago we were recommended Boston Medical Center, which we will soon be able to reach. In a month, we will go for an examination, and it is time to search for a comfortable hotel nearby the medical center. We need to be there by 9 am, so I was looking for places within walking distance. I'm sharing with you our excellent selection. The image galleries and prices get refreshed with the latest updates regularly. They were last updated on May 23, 2025.

When I was picking a hotel for my parents and me, I paid attention not only to the proximity to the medical center but also to what is around. I really wanted to go for family walks in beautiful places in the evenings. And this renowned four-star hotel will greatly help us in this. Here is the historic Back Bay district with many authentic cafes and interesting museums, where we can have a great time. But I have no doubts about the service in this hotel. I will tell you more.
The distance to the Boston Medical Center is one and a half miles, and our walk will take about 30 minutes. Overall it's acceptable, I would like it to be quicker, but unfortunately, I couldn't find anything closer. In case of bad weather, we can get there by taxi in 5 minutes. Public transportation won't help us in this case. For some reason, there are no buses here.
This hotel has such luxurious spacious rooms with comfortable beds, panoramic windows, and a working area. This is very important. Since I will be taking my laptop, I will either have to work somewhere in the conference hall or I can do it in my room. There is also a restaurant where we can have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They serve dishes in a buffet format, and that is my favorite way to serve! And we can also order room service, which is very convenient. There is also a cool bar, it would be nice to spend time there in the evening, and I found out that they have live music. I will definitely check it out!
And I also found a huge arena for hosting business events, of course, this is not relevant for any of us, but maybe this will be useful information for you.
This hotel is multi-story, and sometimes in the evenings the elevator simply cannot handle it, you have to wait for it for 10-15 minutes, which is definitely a downside. Especially when you have eaten a lot and just want to get to your room quickly. I also did not like the reviews from some travelers about water stagnation. I am not ready, for example, to wait for the water to drain after a shower. This is unacceptable in hotels, especially of such a category!

Here is another four-star hotel that caught my interest. It is located in the center of Boston, and there are many shopping centers and several basketball arenas nearby. This means that in the evening we can stroll through the shops, visit a café, and catch a basketball game. I used to go with my parents to the home games of our city team often, but then somehow there was never enough time for that. There's a chance to make up for lost time!
Compared to the previous two options, this hotel is the same distance away - 1 mile. It will take about 25 minutes to walk here. By bike, the journey will take 10 minutes. And if we use a taxi, we will be there in 5 minutes. We are satisfied! Walks here will be especially pleasant. We will get to explore the entire city center! And we won't have to spend time on this on the weekend. Great!
What a rooftop terrace it has here! It has a sunbathing area and an unreal cool pool where you can swim and relax. In the evenings, there are decent parties where you can have fun and drink a couple of glasses at the bar, if, of course, I'm not prohibited from doing so. In the mornings, they have yoga and Pilates by the pool, and it's my long-time dream since I can never get myself to do it in the mornings. There's also a gym that I intend to go to. I have training scheduled twice a week, which I don’t want to miss due to the examination.
The hotel is very large, and sometimes rudeness from the staff occurs. According to reviews, this happens more often during long check-in times. I was also disappointed with their Wi-Fi, which is supposedly available but requires chasing around the floors of the hotel. What about my meetings with colleagues? Will I really have to hold meetings from a cafe?

This hotel is different from all the previous ones because it is so small! There are only 16 rooms, which means we will receive personalized service and a quiet atmosphere without crowds of vacationers and lines for the elevator. Visually, it resembles some kind of medieval castle, and when I looked at the photos, I felt like I was transported to the 17th century, somewhere in England. Cool! Let's see what it's like inside.
And in this place, morning walks are a must! This three-star hotel is located 1.4 miles from our medical center, which we can reach in half an hour on foot. Overall, if we have breakfast at 8 and leave at half past eight, we will just make it in time. And my parents will be eager to take a walk by all means, as they will have to sit through procedures until the evening. They get very tired from it.
There is a shared kitchen, and it's so wonderful! Mom will be able to prepare her legendary breakfasts and delight us with dad. It's so nice and homey. They even managed to equip a gym, it's not large, but everything necessary for a good workout is here. I will go! And what a relief - there is a coffee machine, and I can pour myself a cup of espresso at any time.
I was so upset to read in some reviews that some bathrooms smell like sewage. This is unacceptable for us. Also, there are issues with sound insulation and ventilation. This means that the room will be stuffy, and you need to bring earplugs. It's not a great pleasure, of course.

Here is another suitable option for us, located in the historic district of the city. I noted for myself that we can cook for ourselves and I really liked the spacious rooms that have a place to store luggage.
Of course, it would be nice to live across from the medical center, but in Boston we won't see such luxury. Here, the minimum distance to the hospital is a mile. But I am consoled by the good weather forecast for our dates and relatively inexpensive taxi in case of rain. In the morning, we can leisurely walk there in 20 minutes, admiring the city facades. Only if none of us oversleeps and we have time for it.
The layout of the rooms is so convenient, I’m just thrilled! A large hallway where I can put my luggage away, a double bed for myself. Simply amazing! And there is a kitchen where I can cook and not bump into others in a shared kitchen. That's just great! There's also a bathtub where I can lie for hours, until I recover from the hospital walls. It will replace my gym and meditations.
In fact, each room is a small studio. And the main problem is the smell of food where you will be sleeping. The ventilation works so-so. And I am also confused by the fact that pets are allowed. For some, this is a plus, but I don't really like that.

This three-star hotel is my mom's favorite. She loves small hotels with a good set of services and entertainment. Here we will be offered bicycles for riding around the city, or as transportation to get to the hospital in the morning.
This is probably the closest location I could find. Plus, they will provide bicycles — that's just great! It turns out the distance is less than a mile, and we can leisurely walk there in 15 minutes, enjoying the weather and the morning hours. And if we take the bicycles, it'll only take 7 minutes — and we'll be there. There is also parking for bicycles. It's very convenient!
All the hotel windows overlook a quiet street, and that's so great because we will all sleep peacefully. I remember that during my last trip, the noise from the road bothered me a lot, and I didn't sleep well. I also noted that there is a shared kitchen with a refrigerator, electric kettle, and coffee machine. You can cook something and have a snack. I also noticed many common areas where you can have coffee and chat with neighbors. There are board games that we will definitely play. All this will help us distract from the hospital walls.
The main downside for our family is that there is no private bathroom and toilet in the room. We will have to use the facilities on the floor. To be honest, the rooms are quite small. It's also unclear where to store our belongings. Most likely, they will offer a paid storage service.

Here we are at the hotel, which is just 1 mile from Carson Beach. It's so great! We can confidently plan a beach getaway for the weekend. And I really want to mention their sidewalk café, surrounded by a blooming garden. I will be sitting there enjoying the coolness of the evenings.
We have new transportation options here - finally, public bus routes have arrived. The stop is located opposite the hotel, and the 47th bus will take us there in just 10 minutes. Great! And if we walk, we can cover the distance of 1 mile in 20 minutes. Of course, taxis are still an option - the journey takes 7 minutes. Parents will enjoy this variety.
In the mornings, we will go down to the hotel restaurant, where a breakfast buffet will be waiting for us. And it's so great that we will have time to have a good breakfast. Also, they have a gym where I can work out a couple of times a week. I looked at the photos, and I am quite satisfied with the equipment. And here's something very important to know: each room has its own mini-wardrobe. Finally, there won't be any more tripping over suitcases.
There are problems with room cleaning, many reviews mention that this needs to be requested at the reception several times. I am not ready to fight for cleanliness for a month. I also noticed reviews about poor internet. Since I am partially bringing work with me and will need to make calls, I don't even know how I'm going to cope with this.

This unusual four-star hotel is located in a historic six-story townhouse from 1867 that belonged to a Boston merchant! It has such an interesting history; it intrigued me. The hotel operates on a bed and breakfast system and has many positive reviews. I will tell you more about this place.
I did it! I found a hotel just 0.5 miles from here. The walk will take only 9 minutes. Can you imagine, it's just stepping out and being at the hospital walls. The parents will definitely appreciate it. If the weather is bad, we can take the bus. The number 8 bus runs here and stops right at the building and will take us to the medical center. In case of emergencies, there's always a taxi. But the weather is promised to be nice, so we'll enjoy a walk in the mornings.
There is a charming terrace on the roof where you can have a snack, as it is equipped with tables and chairs. Or just sunbathe there. And overall, there is a great view of the surroundings. This is perfect for our family for an evening any day. I also saw rooms with such a luxurious bathroom that has windows, and it will be an unforgettable experience. And of course, the breakfasts here are magnificent! They serve continental dishes at the buffet, as well as you can choose from the menu. Everything is delicious, filling, and beautiful according to the reviews. I’m happy!
Unfortunately, there is no elevator in this hotel. My dad will definitely not like it if he is placed above the second floor; he will simply refuse to stay here. Also, there are many houses under construction around, and the noise may be a distraction during the day. And the prices, I must say, are not cheap. It's worth considering and comparing with other options.

How glad I am that we finally made it to the five-star hotels. This luxurious tall building offers such magnificent panoramic views that I even got dizzy. There is a pool on the upper floors. And I also found a cool spa!
The distance of 1 mile is standard for this area. I have already accepted that we won't be living much closer. If we stay here, our morning commute will take 26 minutes. We need to walk along the square, the park, and the historical district. Overall, the route is not bad. In good weather, we'll probably do just that. It's also possible to take public transport. There is a bus stop for route No. 1 nearby, and in 15 minutes we can get to the medical center. Overall, that's convenient too.
I'll start by saying that if I manage to book a room on the upper floors, I will have a fantastic view of Boston! There is also a well-equipped gym that I plan to use. I noted the spa center as well. Oh, how long I have dreamed of this. There is never enough time in regular life. I will definitely go for a couple of wraps and a daily relaxing massage. This hotel also boasts its panoramic terrace on the top floor, where you can have dinner and look at the city lights. I'm sure my parents will love it. As for the menu here, one thing can be said: abundance. What seafood! I already want to try it so much. And to be honest with you, this option is definitely our favorite.
As with any hotel above 10 floors, there are inevitably problems with the elevator, and the peak occurs in the evening. Isn't it possible to estimate the approximate occupancy of the building and include a couple more elevators during construction? And I want to say a few words about their pool — it is unrealistically small for such a number of guests!

And finally, I want to tell you about a three-star hotel that also caught our attention: here, the breakfasts are delicious, there is a pool, a 24-hour front desk, and good wifi! A great option!
Do you know, I didn't even hope, but it's only 0.4 miles from here to the medical center. Can you imagine? It's just a 5-minute walk, and we're there. I thought this wouldn't be possible, but this hotel is really close. My parents will appreciate it! Let's see what services it has to offer.
There is a small indoor pool where you can swim in the evenings. There is a buffet, where I would stop by for donuts with coffee. In the morning, they offer a continental breakfast from the menu, and I also liked the half-day spa program. I will gladly go with my mom to it. I also want to note their conference room, where I will be holding my online meetings.
You know, sometimes you read good reviews about a hotel, it seems like everything is fine. But then you find something about suspicious people near the building, and that it can be unsafe in the mornings. Also, parking is not included in the accommodation cost. In the evenings, there are problems with water pressure. These are the drawbacks I found.

I will start my list with this lovely boutique hotel in a quiet historic district of the city of Boston, where we can take evening walks as a family. By the way, it is also noted as the safest area in the city, which is important for us too!
Only one mile separates us from the medical center, and if we translate it into time, it's about a 25-minute leisurely walk. Moreover, there are historic houses around, and it's all so beautiful. It's a shame not to take advantage of such an opportunity, since we spend so little time together. Well, here's another option: call a taxi and be there in 4 minutes. If the weather is bad, then why not.
This place has such an unusual design, and my favorite color yellow predominates. I love designer boutique hotels! They are always so unique and special. Now for the more significant advantages: down here, you can take bicycles and large umbrellas. It's so thoughtful of them. We won't need a taxi at all. We can either get there by bike or take an umbrella in case of rain.
Also, there is a smoke-free area here, and that's super important for my parents. They can't stand the smell of tobacco at all. We also don’t have to think about food - we can grab a bite at the hotel restaurant, and we are so lucky that there is a familiar cuisine for us - American. Cool!
Charge for using a bathrobe, towels, and internet. It just doesn't add up in my head. You know, this is the first time I've encountered such a thing, and I still don't know how to feel about it. I definitely won't tell my parents about this. And also, there's no daily cleaning - which means if there's a lot of trash, you'll have to take it out yourself. I'm upset. And yes, my mom will definitely not like that the TV doesn't work.
