InterContinental Costa Rica at Multiplaza Mall seemed to me the perfect place to start our honeymoon. This combination of urban style, coziness, and ideal location in the capital makes the best impression. No less important is the fact that this is a hotel under a well-known global brand, which means the service level here is top-notch.

And now I will talk about the hotel where I really dream of staying. I have wanted to stay at Pacuare Lodge for a long time - it seems that this place is perfect for immersing oneself in the wild nature of Costa Rica. The lodge is located right on the riverbank, and I think it will be an unforgettable adventure, starting from the very arrival - you can get there by boat or even go rafting! Just that alone promises incredible experiences.

The nature around is so stunning that you feel on the edge of something primal. There are no windows in the rooms – only mosquito nets, so the entire world around you literally seeps in: the sounds, the aromas of the forest and river. Of course, it will be hot and humid, but I am ready for that, as it's just part of the unique experience of being close to nature. This is exactly the kind of experience we dream of when discussing our honeymoon. It is very secluded here; you feel alone with nature and each other.

If you inform the hotel staff that it is your honeymoon, be prepared for extra attention. Here, everyone already feels surrounded by care, and on your special dates, it's doubled.

I also chose this hotel for a stopover of 2-3 nights after San Jose.

My husband and I are eager to experience this adrenaline rush, and then relax while listening to the sound of the river and enjoying the stunning nature.

Yes, I understand that this is not a place for those seeking complete comfort: there may be insects in the rooms, and the noise of the forest might seem too loud for some. But for me, it will be an adventure, a chance to be in harmony with nature, even if it means getting used to a somewhat wild environment.

Despite any possible inconveniences, I feel that Pacuare Lodge will leave me with the warmest memories. This place is not for long trips, but for a few nights - it is exactly what is needed for true seclusion and relaxation during a honeymoon.

When I think about where to spend the honeymoon, Hacienda AltaGracia, Auberge Resorts Collection becomes one of the top contenders. This place combines incredible luxury and natural harmony, which is perfect for such a special period. I can imagine how my partner and I will enjoy absolute solitude and silence, surrounded only by the greenery and mountains of Costa Rica. So this is exactly where I would go after a couple of nights in San Jose and a stop at the previous hotel. 

For me, the perfect honeymoon is when you both have plenty of time to communicate with each other, have the chance for active leisure and shared experiences, while also relaxing by the pool or at the sea without getting tired. 

What particularly attracts me to this hotel is the opportunity to start the morning with a horseback ride through the picturesque surroundings, as the horses here are in perfect condition, and caring for them is a separate art. We could relax in a private jacuzzi or spend an evening by the open pool, admiring the sunset over the mountains. The rooms are spacious, with exquisite decor, each featuring a terrace or patio where we can spend quiet moments together. Additionally, the presence of kitchens in some rooms will allow us to feel even more at home.

At Hacienda AltaGracia, the attention to detail is simply incredible. The service is top-notch, and it seems that any wish can be fulfilled: from organizing a romantic dinner to a relaxing massage. Additionally, you can play billiards and explore the wild nature while observing the animals.

This place will definitely give us unforgettable moments. If I choose Hacienda AltaGracia for the honeymoon, I will be sure that every day here will be special, full of romance and adventures, and these memories will stay with us forever. I think it's worth splurging on such a vacation at least once in a lifetime.
